• Blastoise is a sick cannon tortoise, but it’s BIPEDAL and that is nonsense. I can’t rock with that

• Torkoal is awesome and actually a tortoise, but I wish it was bigger and/or evolved

• I love Kommo-o, but man. It’s a pseudo (basic) and it’s based on a cultural practice and history from a culture that I am not a part of (weird, possibly appropriation)

• I feel like I’m supposed to like Torterra. I love tortoises, I have two, I love plants, I have trillions, ground is probably my favorite type. But the long tail, no plasteron, can’t withdraw limbs into shell… it just doesn’t seem like a tortoise. Plus that type combo is NOT defensively viable

But what’s the other move? Going from DT to PJ changes Kommo-o from a fast move mon to an all-rounder type. The -def from brick break means less w/o DT but it’s the only fighting stab that won’t debuff unless you run double nuke closer Kommo-o but w low HP stat it’s taking bulk from decent to awful

This highlights even more how badly a faster energy generating move for Kommo-o was needed. 5 Dragon Tails to a clanging scales isn’t bad (15 turns to a move like that!) but that’s not enough for a meta like this one. The alternative is to run poison jab and get to it in 8
