To be clear this is me saying that you can tell the industry has shifted and is making it harder for a lot of voices to now be heard if they’re not deemed popular and marketable which can really eat at the soul of a writer.

No because what you’re saying is the reality of it. While booktok has been great for libraries and book stores I feel like it has unfortunately watered down the quality of books being published. I have picked up so many “popular” books that just felt lacking or unoriginal.
