Enjoying this. Clearly WIZARDRY inspired. Reads like an OSR D&D dungeon crawl

The Conan comics from Titan are incredible. Especially the black and white art of SAVAGE SWORD.

23. TASTE THE BLOOD OF DRACULA changes up the formula with rich perverts getting mixed up in a ritualistic black mass/murder that inadvertently brings Drac back from the dead. A wonderfully Gothic spooky cemetery and church, some racy scenes, and a fun ritual setpiece. Great fun.

Went down to the mailbox after carving pumpkins this afternoon to find this delightful fiction by @orringrey.com and art by @patricbates.bsky.social! #halloweendoublefeature

22. DRACULA HAS RISEN FROM THE GRAVE is a step down from the Fisher/Sangster cycle, but Lee's Count is intense and shot really well here. The actors bring warmth, humor, and connection, helping to make up for a plodding pace. Subtle social commentary and slightly more overt eroticism are welcome.

21. IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS is the perfect adaptation of a certain kind of horror paperback: 3rd-wave cosmic horror pulp, with just enough self respect to keep its ideas from falling through its rickety stage. Caps off the 80s era of horror excess with a sense of exhausted, go-for-broke effort.

#20. THE GHOST GALLEON has a braindead setup involving swimsuit models out on a boat in the middle of the ocean for some reason, but it's not long before the ship of Blind Dead ghouls shows up. Bad pacing is forgivable in light of the incredible galleon set and charming model work.

#19. DRACULA PRINCE OF DARKNESS is the perfect Lee-Dracula sequel, save for the lack of Cushing. But the film's look, fun script, creepy castle scenes, wonderful cast, and gruesome resurrection scene sets it apart. Fangtastic

I want to opt out! I want to opt out of all of it!! I've been reading books and watching DVDs and playing Diablo 2 in offline mode and going on walks and it's enough!! What are they doing to us! What have they done to us?!

#18. HORROR OF DRACULA set me on the path of Hammer. I rewatch it often, always enchanted by its color, performances, and neo-Gothic tone.

#17: ABBOTT AND COSTELLO MEET FRANKENSTEIN is pretty much my ideal classic monster mash up: great sets and lighting, lots of monster action, and a whip-crack comedic script. A surprise cameo by Vincent Price seals the deal. Delightful

#16: THE DEVIL'S NIGHTMARE is more or less what you'd expect from an early 70s cross-European Gothic creaker, with plenty of skin, bizarre characters, and fun set pieces. Weirdly horny and languid, and often (intentionally) funny.
