I also want to clarify that I'm not opposed to unintended scs, I can see the appeal but they're not something I'm personally interested in

MKSC and SMK will require more playtime to form a proper opinion. Coins luckily aren't part of TTs so thumbs up to them, but them being too precision based and super janky from their being 2D make them less appealing to play for me, hate the spooky courses with a passion. Scs are likewise dumb

Also they introduced character specific stat buffs here, ewwww!!!!

7 is just Wii jr., with even more sluggishness than before, pointless kart customization and the definitive introduction of coins as part of the gameplay in modern MK. Ew! Lackluster in content, the tracks are nice but with how slow the game is I might as well fall asleep. Not interested in TT'ing

Wii receives too much glaze fwiw, didn't grow up with it so I have no attachment. Many things kill your momentum, the scs look dumb, flaps are not easily viewable, the community is sometimes questionable and full of cheaters. But I do like feeling like I'm in MotoGP on rMC3 and there's no coins!

8 is a pretty gorgeous game to look at (don't have BCP :P), it controls quite nicely and it's fun to play at times, but I don't find it very appealing to grind for TTs especially because of coins and dumb tricks. Tracks are alright with some I really like. I don't have NSO so I can't play online

64 I can feel hasn't aged well but I still consider it a pretty good game to play, it's not all too different in feeling from DS imo but the lines it needs are more akin to modern MK. Not much content, recoveries are usually sluggish but it's a goofy and broken game, in a good way

DS is what I grew up with and is definitely the one I spent the most time on as of yet. It has mech almost on par with DD and plenty gameplay options, some made by the community, which are usually greatly complemented by the game's tight controls. Good enough tracks with some iffy spots, wifi is fun

DD is for me the most fun to play because of its gameplay mechanics (A-tech, forgiveness on hits and wall bonks, the nuanced and funky movement options) and really solid track roster, not to mention it arguably has the most cohesive and colorful art direction in the series
