February is flatpack build month - a greenhouse and a big shed - and then in March we’ll start some Public activities with some gardening skills workshops.

For now though, from all of us here at the Spode Rose Garden - happy yuletide to you all - and here’s to a better 2025. xx

Remarkably, digging in Stoke, so near to an iconic pottery factory, excavation brought no ceramic finds - but there was this haul of lovely shiny bricks which will form the steps into the polytunnel.

Looking forward to finishing this landscaping stage in January.

But one spadeful at a time the ground has changed shape into what can now be imagined as a productive growing space for our group to try and cultivate a new array of #SpodeChinaRoses along with new plants for the garden and some for sale to sustain ourselves.

That’s about it for this year - 6 weeks ago the first spade went in the ground to develop our new nursery project - the land was thick with buddleia and bindweed, and as we explored further - significant amounts of rubble
