Agreed. Been an oiler since "Beds are Burning." If I'm not mistaken, there's also a town in Louisiana with the same name.

It honestly wouldn't hurt my feelings none if we went back to horse and buggy. I mean, I'd need to finagle some sort of HVAC system for it because I don't do excessive heat and humidity. But cars, while they have their advantages, can be such a PAIN!!!

Once, in a particularly tight economic period for me, I checked out a couple of reality shows. Amazing Race was one of them. It is the only one that has ever appealed to me. I can't sit there watching the antics of those famous for being famous or those-- you know what, I'mma stop there.

Are eating disorders amongst jockeys still an unspoken issue? I remember reading an article about that years ago when I lived in KY. I only went to a track once, and it was for an off-season festival on the grounds. Couldn't bring myself to go back.

I'm trying to free up $$ right now so I can actually save up to go on one. Funny, when I was a kid, I thought Royal Caribbean and Carnival and stuff looked AWESOME. As an adult, couldn't PAY me enough. Ewww!

They're smaller and they seem more low-key and they're not bodies, bodies, bodies everywhere you turn. Ugh! I'd love to take one down the Seine or Rhine or even go on a US river cruise. But them big boats with whole wings of people puking, random people falling into the sea. Nope!!

I take meds that lower my tolerance for heat. I have gone without AC for days after hurricanes but it involved some creative dressing and the use of rechargeable or battery powered fans. AC is necessary for me. Yet, it must be maintained properly to be free of mold & other allergens that sicken.

One of my meds lowers my tolerance for heat and sunlight. Thus my ghostly pallor. Plus, I live in the South where the heat and humidity is just awful right now. Walking from my mailbox to the house just about takes it out of me.
