Two split frames of a scene from Who Framed Roger Rabbit where Eddie Valiant is fighting Judge Doom and opens an Acme crate to grab a "singing" sword. In the top image he has just barely grabbed the cartoon sword, that despite clearly being anthropomorphic with a human-like face is straight like a proper sword in Eddie's grasp and appears to be asleep, closed eyes on its face that is facing downward while Eddie wields the sword with an expression of vengeance aimed at the off-screen villain. That expression is quickly replaced by a look that can only be described as "as shit what the hell?" in the bottom image, as the sword has woken up and is no longer straight but all curved and squiggly in Eddie's grasp, the top portion with the face (that is accentuated by a blue hairline just below where it tapers up into the tip) now curving upward so that the face is the correct orientation for a human-like being, despite being only a face on the end of a twisting snake-like sword still being held by Eddie Valiant. Oh and much closer to the hilt is also a blue bow tie, implying nearly the entire length of the sword is a neck. The sword's face, with dreamy blue eyes and mouth open as it sings, bears a carnival caricature resemblance to Frank Sinatra, who is also the voice of the sword as it begins singing Witchcraft.

Definitely sunflowers! Because lookit! A few of the sprouts still have their husk attached!
I have gently partially dug down around the shoots on one side, so we can see where the sprouts fade from green to a yellowish white, and it's just a massive cluster of sprouts looking like angel hair or something as it disappears into the dirt. A couple of the cotyledons, or seed leaves, on the tips of a couple of the younger sprouts actually have the hard black sunflower seed husks still attached.

Already got a visual update! Because they are growing *fast*. This was from this morning. It's no longer just groups of two leaves on the end of each stem, 'cause new pairs are growing out of the middle at 90 degrees! So there's now four leaves per stem, or two cotyledons and two 'true' leaves.
As stated, new baby leaves are starting to grow out in the center of at least some of the existing pairs of leaves, pointed at 90 degrees from the first pairs so that when all four leaves are out they'll be oriented like compass points. Also, all the sprouts are noticeably taller than in the first pic with a couple of especially lanky ones off on the right with trailing stems lying on the ground that are a few inches long before the leaves on the very end.

Does anybody who knows plants know what this is? It just started randomly growing in a strip of dirt near the house after a heavy rain. Google-searching the pic says purslane but I do *not* think it is purslane (but maybe a different sort of portulaca?) The leaves are rubbery and succulent-like.
A low to the ground newly growing cluster of some sort of succulent type leafy plant that has burst forth from the earth. It has spindly green stems unlike purslane's red stems, and instead of larger clusters of four or so leaves at the end of each stem it only has two leaves on the tip of each stem, opposite each other so that if you manually closed them you could pretend it was chomping. The leaves themselves are very similar to purslane in appearance though, elongated smooth ovals.

Unless they are ~heavy duty~ coasters. These are the two on my nightstand:
Two clay tile pottery type coasters I'm gonna guess without measuring are roughly 4" squared, though the one on the left is slightly smaller. That one is reddish tan clay color with an intentional roughness to the edges and cracks on the surface to make it look old, and slightly carved into the surface and also colored in black it says "When it doubt add more wine." The one on the right that's slightly bigger is a flat white ceramic EFFIN BIRDS coaster, slightly chipped this time from actual use and otherwise a cleaner square shape, the surface also slightly discolored from use as its intended purpose, so it has a faded tan cup ring on it. The image is a black and white illustration of I believe a starling, above the words "I am a goddamned delight."

Freeze frame from the TNG episode Transfigurations, where the amnesic alien guy with the power to heal with a touch starts having energy attacks where his chest and then whole body glows bright yellow during a spasm, until he eventually turns into a flameless glowstick version of the Human Torch and then just a ball of energy. In this scene he's in sickbay flanked by Dr. Crusher and a nurse (not Ogawa, I would recognize her) and he's standing facing the camera and also arching his back a bit, caught mid gasp of pain as bright yellow energy bursts forth from his chest. He's dressed in a white form fitting spandex one-piece bodysuit and the way he's arching his back (and thus also thrusting his hips out towards us) reveals that he was not given anything to wear underneath the spandex to help limit the presence of a certain part of his anatomy. If anything he's got a codpiece on under there.

Just the word "yikes" but it's written all fancy in Medieval Manuscript style where the Y is much larger and white, while the rest of the word is smaller in black, and the white Y has a fancy pattern of green leaves over a turquoise background behind it that's also in a darker blue frame, and it also has a little red dragon existing in the bowl part formed by the top of the Y. The rest of the word also has some blue manuscript margin style doodling underneath it.

Screen shot of two posts in my bluesky following feed, dated 17 hours ago because I had scrolled down to where I left off yesterday. The bottom one, and so the first one because I am scrolling up, is a news post by Sue Stone aka knittingknots stating: "CVS: COVID vaccines not available in 16 states following new RFK Jr. limits" and then includes a link to the article. The post above this one is an Effin' Birds post with a painting of a bird that I believe is a purple swamphen, next to the exclaimation: "What the shit?"

Anyway I looked it up and the title is Scientific Method, and here's a picture of Janeway checking up on Old Man Chakotay, who I guess the writers decided would lose ALL his hair, or maybe the DNA tweak was also said to make it all fall out.
Chakotay is in sickbay, lying on a bio bed though that's cropped out of the image as we only see him from about the chest up, as he struggles to sit up a bit while Janeway is standing by his side, and we see her from only around the waist up. Chakotay is wearing a full face and head prosthetic old man makeup that really accentuates his cheekbones and fades out his tribal tattoo, and he is as bald as Mr. Clean. Balder, because Mr. Clean at least still has eyebrows. (Chakotay does not have eyebrows.) Janeway is looking down at him in concern but also looks slightly pained and unkempt, a scant few loose strands in her pulled-up bun hairdo revealing that she's not quite been feeling like herself, either, almost as if she's suffering from a horrible nonstop migraine headache.

As an aside, I took to the googles to verify that Eddie Valiant quote and now have probably one of the BEST examples of why the AI cannot be trusted. If you've got an AI diehard in your family show 'em this:

The AI Overview reads as follows: The line "You need a heart before you can have an attack" is a famous quote from the movie Who Framed Roger Rabbit, specifically spoken by the character Eddie Valiant. It's a witty, sarcastic retort to R.K. Maroon, who accuses Eddie of trying to give him a heart attack. The line highlights the absurdity of the situation, as Maroon is a cartoon character who doesn't have a literal human heart, thus cannot physically experience a heart attack.

I totally get it. My first cover compared to my last one:

Our yorkie Bentley needed a calmer-downer to go to the groomers and I've got a picture of him in my car post-groom still absolutely stoned out of his mind, lol.
A shorn Yorkshire terrier sitting on his haunches on the passenger seat of my car (vehicle has dark gray interior) and he's sort of facing in my direction except not really because he's staring off into space not looking directly at me. His eyes are very squinty and his expression can only be described as empty head, no thoughts. Little dude is trippin' balls, lol.

Yeah. It's east-facing but we're in the desert and so during the summer at least, even only getting sun until around noonish the poor tomato plant is starting to fry. It's extra hot with the reflective heat from against the side of the house, too.

But I finished the shade structure this morning!
Wide view of nearly the whole east side of the house. A strip of barren desert dirt ending at an eight-foot panel of cream vinyl fence in the background rests in shade while the side of the house taking up the majority of the top left of the image has stucco nearly the same shade of tan/beige as the dirt that is illuminated by the off-camera morning sun. A single living room window visible on the far end of the house has a bare lattice covered trellis structure sitting a couple feet in front of it that is as tall as the window and would be a good place to grow some sort of climbing vine. In the foreground of the picture, the main focal point is a structure of sorts comprised of four wooden posts attached to concrete bases, with blue sunshade fabric attached to the top of the four posts, holding it taut over a handmade wooden bench sitting below it. Extra fabric also drapes in the back, so that there is a top canopy roof of blue fabric and also a back wall of blue fabric creating an alcove of sorts for the potted tomato plant that is sitting upon the wooden bench underneath the canopy. Presently only the top of the tomato plant is beginning to be illuminated by the still low early morning sun. Closeup of the wood bench and tomato plant upon it, which is in the nursery pot that has the built-in tomato cage. The plant is barely taller than the top edge of the cage, and the tip top of the plant is now in shade while the majority of the plant is in full sun, this picture taken a couple hours later so the sun is higher in the sky.

I half-ass measured by standing next to it and the tallest point is still below my knee, so it's not big at all.
Roughly round dome shaped French lavender shrub that is loose and open and very scraggly with a visibly woody interior.
