I think it could work here, given the vibe. If you like the odd distraction in your day, you enjoy silly puns & word games & you’d like to be part of a niche community of likeminded folk, lemme know! I obvs have very few followers here atm so I need your help getting this off the ground!

Housekeeping:

If you post to play, you must also read the thread & ‘like’ where you lol

Duplicate wordmashes’ scores will be disregarded

The winner of a round suggests the next categories but cannot do so twice in a row - even if they win consecutive rounds - so it defaults to 2nd highest scorer

The rules are simple, you start with two categories (e.g., dog breeds & album titles)

Anyone who can see the thread can post a #wordmash

Players can post as many as they like

Other players ‘like’ the post if they lol

The aim is to generate the most lols to win (this is completely subjective)

10 years ago this evolved into an occasional pun/word game that was resurrected over drinks. One day, discussing politics, we mixed with band names.

Tony Blair + Blur = Tony Blur.

It escalated to a whole round of similar amalgams & much hilarity.

Narendra Modi + Depeche Mode = Depeche Modi etc…

We had an economically naive get-rich-quick idea, to make t-shirts with photoshopped images of two (minor or major) celebs melded together, whose names could be enjoyably combined.

The original was (ex-MUFC capt.) Steve Bruce & martial arts movie icon (Bruce Lee) = Steve Bruce Lee…
