sometimes you need some metal music to solve unknown structures. all week fighting with one of these ugly small-molecule organics but it seems like it needed some heavy riffs and blast beats to get it through. jop done. now I can enjoy the weekend :) #3DED #crystallography #precession

Very happy on how things went last Tuesday at @icmabcsic.bsky.social talking about the potential of electron diffraction in many (perhaps too much) case examples! A lot of interest and questions to dig on further as well!😄 ED is pretty cool 😜

just a reminder that tomorrow I will be at @icmabcsic.bsky.social giving a talk about the wonders of #electroncrystallography! If you are interested, you can come-by or just watch it online from your home via registration
Cool diffraction patterns will be there ;) www.icmab.es/electron-cry...

Published in 1995 but as if it would have been written today. Well worth reading in a world where science and critical thinking are haunted.

Happy to be in Germany back again for some science and perhaps a couple of beers 😄

As I see many more associations/groups joining bluesky it's time for a reminder: if you have an official website it can become your profile handle and name! That's very helpful for making your profile more recognizable, easy to tag, and to verify your autenticity bsky.social/about/blog/4...

Bad. But how bad? I once asked myself, while finding fakes in the Scientific Report @natureportfolio.bsky.social.

So I decide to "do my our research" - I took 100 articles in a row from Physical sciences that contains diffraction.

Result - 15 fakes out 100.

Seems appropriate to start this new year with a first post here. I’m quite hyped for 2025. Lots of electron #crystallography to be finally published, lots of very neat #science with great people, and quite much fun to be done with our ED-based #TEM. Stay tuned! 😁

Putting my peer reviewer/editor hat on: trainees, your methods section is so important. Make sure it’s exceedingly clear what you did in a way that someone can repeat it. Do not be opaque here just because methods are usually not at the forefront.
