October 3, and the author is sad as rocks, even though he sits at the second-best outdoor booth at the Replay Lounge, his favorite bar in Lawrence, Kansas/the world. Someone carved SPIT, FIRE! into the very table thé author is sitting at, and that’s like half the title of this very novel.

The author’s no expert but it looks to him that carver had to resort to using a key or something. Please note a lack of tools did not stop the carver's drive to produce art. The author would not say the carver possessed skill but certainly taste, taste in abundance.
