IMO, some things are better off not politicized. One side says Boelter was a left-winger. Others say he was a right-winger. Both sides are trying to score political points. Someone is dead. Others are seriously injured. Focus on capturing him, bringing him to justice, and the welfare of the injured.

I read that EM has received approximately $19B in funding since 08. It feels so good to know that my tax dollars contributed to funding it. No waste or fraud there.

Wish income tax on the rich and also corporate taxes would increase. If not that, end welfare for the rich, e.g., pay into social security in every paycheck, increase capital gains tax, increase estate tax, etc. Both increased taxes and ending corporate welfare would be even better.

Summary take of the political situation. My father told me (all too often) that when i was stupid i had to pay for it. He failed to tell me that i would have to pay for others' stupidity too.

From NPR i learn that China has slapped a 15% tariff on coal. The top three coal producing states in the U.S. are Wyoming, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. They all went for trump in the 2024 election. Schadenfreude, you might ask?
