i think it depends on the flavor of the spell as always? itd feel normal for UB ashiok or WB kaya to cast U/W Turn to Mist, but neither could cast a U/W Dovescape. but then, ashiok shouldn't be casting UB Corpse Cobble or U/B River's Grasp either (or Dimir Charm or Sauron's Ransom...)

it's a way to emphasize uncertainty when a statement isnt otherwise phrased like a question! (it's weirder to see written since all written/typed text already explicitly writes out the question mark at the end.)

insatiable skittermaw's art DID appear in the story! it was probably the vaguest use of an art in the story, but it showed up when talking about the wurm speaker's disappearance (implying it lives in the wurmwall and attacked - a similar monster also appears in the corner of wurmwall sweeper's art)

(pain for all is so strange because the art did appear in the story, but the card's flavor is totally different?? it was just used to illustrate "this is what the claws on tan's armor look like", not like this agonizing enraged power-up state)

major characters arent typically spotlights unless their art also depicts a relevant story moment, so i understand the endstone not being a spotlight. but frontline war rager, wurmwall sweeper, weftstalker ardent feel like strong candidates - lot better than like skittermaw or pain for all

its very funny that 3 of these are just "The Monoists Kick Ass" when they got to do very little of that in the story itself!

huh true, i never looked at the full list before but most of them are just "things that happen in the setting" rather than "things significant to the endstone's journey". and only 8 and a half appear in the story itself (embrace oblivion got previewed in a side story, but oddly with a diff art)

its unfortunate that "ai" is now just a general purpose buzzword that autotranslates to "slop" - upscaling tools were a thing long before genai took over and i dont think they were ever problematic
