I love these beautiful flowers I received for Mother's Day. Sadly, they also remind me of the first Mother's Day I no longer had a mother to send flowers to.

Got a call today from someone claiming to be a CBP agent. He gave me his name, badge number, and a case number. Said a package had been seized with my name on it delivered from Mexico to an address I didn't recognize.
Wanted me to answer questions. 1/2

On April 24, ICE agents broke into a home of a family of US citizens in Oklahoma. The family repeatedly said we are citizens, you have the wrong people. ICE terrorized the family, ripped apart the house.

It's not "other people" that this is happening to. It's us. Open your eyes. Wake the hell up.

I’ve watched too many of these raids to count. This one is one of the most infuriating in recent memory.

Appropriate that we learn about it on the same day SCOTUS hears oral arguments for a case that may remove the last remaining way to hold federal agents accountable for this kind of terror.

So do the men imprisoned in El Salvador. Whether they committed crimes or not, they have the same due process rights you and I do. If they can lose theirs, you can lose yours.

It's important to remember that most of our constitutional rights were affirmed by SCOTUS based on criminal cases. Some of the defendants were less than likeable folks. Nonetheless, they had the same rights we all have.
