This is one of my favourite S-Links in all the games. Mamoru's journey is in accepting that sometimes the cost of achieving your own success is too high, and the way he prioritises his family over his own happiness makes him a hero. That there's no last minute solution is to the games credit.

In Persona 4 Igor told Yu that one of the powers of the Wildcard is the ability to choose how to feel about things. Makoto clearly decided "Nothing" was an equally valid choice. 😂

That's a factor, but I also got the impression that the reason Ryoji lived the way he did was because he wanted to cram as much as possible into the short time he had so he could die with the least regrets. Live fast, die young, leave behind a beautiful corpse. Oh, and take everyone else with you. 😅

I think if you don't have a relationship with any of the girls you spend holidays with the guys. It's like that with Valentines day in P4 (Marie didn't count apparently 😅). TBH it was better than with the girls (or at least Rise), though that was at least 90% because Kanji is a sweetheart.

This S-Link is a train wreck. I remember not having any idea who his brother was, how he died, if Nozomi felt responsible for it, if Nozomi _was_ responsible for it, or even if they were actually related and not just "brothers in cuisine" by the end of it.

I had similar issues with Ken, Akihiko and Shinjiro's S-Links in Kotone's route. With Yukari her issues are still affecting her, but with the third years it felt like they had already grown, and the S-Link regresses them to who they were before you met them to retread their development.

The guy's dickishness was so over the top it turned the whole thing into a farce. 🤷♂️ She does resolve it herself, sure, but that just left me with questions about why she hadn't done it sooner. In every other part of the game, she knows who the authority in a room is - it's her.

I kinda hate Mitsuru's S-Link. She's a woman who knows who's in charge, and it's her. One of her earliest actions is taking initiative to rip into Fuuka's teacher when she disappeared, so her having put up with this charmless asshole until now feels really out of character.
