Get on your bike and meet up somewhere on Whidbey. Different week, different place .. everyone welcome!
I did the Seattle to Portland ride and the Ride the Hurricane on my Trek Domane AL 2 with no problems, no issues and had a wonderful time.

1556 miles in 2025! Wow!

As a reward to both myself and my bike, I'm upgrading my bike from Claris to Shimano 105s

Here's to many more miles! I love my bike!

I don't know which was more difficult, the Ride the Hurricane or the Seattle to Portland (STP) ride. Though both rewarding.

Went out to train on hills .. I found plenty! In addition, I used the front 50 chainring for most the route with the goal of making "mountains out of molehills"

A stop at Joseph Whidbey beach was needed :)

I think I'm ready for the Hurricane Ridge Ride! 🤞

I hope.

Training for the Hurricane Ridge ride, went down to Strawberry Point .. then back up .. along freshly laid rock, tar and dust as they're resurfacing the road 🥴.

I've never wanted a tattoo ... until I saw this.

I finished my first Seattle to Portland (STP) ride! Two days for me and other than the scorching heat 🌞🫠😲, it was an excellent ride with many excellent people - and @cascade.org did a most excellent job!!! As well as those other organizations that supported the riders along the way!

I'm REALLY glad I had the opportunity of snapping this mural which was on the side of an old gas station on the corner of Pioneer and Midway in Oak Harbor, Whidbey Island, Washington ... shortly before the tore that building down.

Preparing for the STP, I've been increasing my rides each week, just finishing 85 miles ... the hot weather training a bonus 😁 and the hills ... hilly.

From La Conner, WA up via Chuckanut drive towards Bellingham back down to Mt. Vernon and Conway before heading back to the start.

Garmin is sooo mean to say I only burned a 2104 calories on a 80 mile ride. 🤬

Down below the steep hill is a train track. Notice how it goes across the water and then into a tunnel. Kinda cool.

80 miles! I finished the Chuckanut!! They reopened it after clearing a rock slide (from April).

I'm completely exhausted!

Today was an excellent day to tour around Whidbey on a bike. From Oak Harbor, down to the Coupeville/Pt Townsend ferry to Ebey's Landing and up West Beach. Started out cool but blue skies and those hills warm you up!

I did the 7 Hills of Kirkland ride on Memorial Day. The century route ... that Winery Hill was a killer .. I saw a bag piper at the top and thought I died .. but it was just delusional exhaustion.

The East Lake Sammamish trail is beautiful!
