They are best in class when it comes to security

Because they include MIT license software?

Use arkenfox or betterfox to disable telemetry. These are config files for Firefox. Do not use any forks or alternative browsers besides either chrome, chromium (from a reputable source) or edge

I believe USB-C works now. I’d check their IRC channel or forum for details—they also have a Mastodon account. The M1 Air is likely the best MacBook for it.

Thanks to Asahi Linux, you can run Linux on some M1 and M2 Macs, though some features are still missing.

No, it doesn’t. macOS was originally UNIX-based but has diverged so much that the comparison is pointless. GNU in GNU/Linux stands for “GNU’s Not UNIX.”

Even if it were Linux, you’d still need Apple’s closed-source drivers to make it work.

Do you mean the colors or the layout of the ui?

Probably C

A recent Dell or ThinkPad (T14 often 50% off) is better—solid build, Linux support, frequent sales.
Plus framework have had issues with shipping firmware late

EOS has a terrible security record—no verified boot, outdated software, few firmware updates, and I’m pretty sure they shipped debug builds for a while. MicroG is also worse for security than sandboxed Play Services.

Perhaps if you don’t value security. They have a terrible track record when it comes to firmware updates.

Just use a pixel with graphene OS.

What’s the benefit vs regular alpine Linux
March 5, 2025 at 12:14 AM
Ark on KDE if u want a GUI and make sure you install all the deps for what you want.
March 3, 2025 at 12:01 AM
You probably installed it there. But why would you use a non native application for something like this? You are better off learning a new manager or using cli

More so apple just needs to make it easier to target Mac OS for people who don’t own apple hardware.

DuckDuckGo uses bing search results. You have no real option when it comes to search.

The goal is to trim off insecure hardware
February 24, 2025 at 3:56 AM
Chrome gives you the option to disable all telemetry. For edge you need to have windows enterprise
February 23, 2025 at 12:39 PM
please do not use an OS with no modern security mechanisms and hasn’t had any patches released in years
February 23, 2025 at 12:37 PM
Vm is going to have terrible performance unless u do a gpu pass through which is fairly complicated if you’ve never used Linux before (many tools now exist to simplify it).

Dual booting is also terrible and breaks all the time. The only games that won’t work are certain games with anti cheat
February 23, 2025 at 12:33 PM
Which is still Linux showing that you can make it user friendly
February 23, 2025 at 5:29 AM
If through steam you just check a box to use the proton compatibility layer
February 23, 2025 at 5:26 AM
Same thing. Both use outdated repos and have worse security then if you opted for fedora.

Grub install is failing
