I’m just here for the canapés and free booze.
Perhaps also handing fannie and freddie to blackrock… and black stone buying up sfh in hot markets… and yimby developers sitting on empty units of condos and apartments for years because they don’t want their cap rate to drop or their investors to look stupid…

But yeah, let’s blame immigrants.

Nuclear power is a canard. It is not cost effective. It's 80% cheaper to burn gas. The only time it makes sense is when the government buys the spent fuel and builds bombs.

This whole narrative around nuclear 2.0 is to (A) placate a dumb population when energy prices skyrocket, (B) scam investors.

But also, prices went up higher than "they tend to do."

Sheesh… long thread to get back to your original post. Are you saying that you don’t believe NYT editors have ever killed stories as favours to the rich and powerful? Or, are you saying we should not discuss this uncommon scenario and instead critique the NYT for being pedestrian, boring, etc.?

She must be on board with you gutting the EPA and NEPA just like how you gutted California’s environmental protection act (CEQA).

Good to know that about Fiona Ma.

The fact that he chooses to write out his entire middle name, Chatterton, instead on just using an abbreviation, tells you everything you need to know about this person.
November 13, 2025 at 11:54 PM
It's definitely got nothing to do with handing Fannie and Freddie over to blackrock or letting blackstone gobble up single family homes. How about all of those empty luxury apartments and condos just sitting on the market for months? Nah... we wouldn't want to f--k with the cap rates of investors.

But also, pointing out that the entire media apparatus in the US can be gamed like search engine rankings, does not somehow justify their existence. It makes dems look like morons and the msm look completely worthless.

You mean to tell me I can‘t create a finite rule engine to solve “biology?” There goes my Saturday plans.

But honestly, I think this is a list of dinner party banter he uses to impress pea-brains like thiel, sacks, summers, etc.

“Biology is np-complete.” [Takes a sip of wine]

Maybe they sanitized the files.

@rokhanna.bsky.social is gonna get an earful from his sand hill road puppet masters.

"You idiot! You were supposed to scrub the documents for our names. Peter is very upset!"

This is my governor. He just permitted 40,000 new oil and gas wells in california because the tech industry told him we need cheap fuel for data centers.

He talks a good talk, but he’s a shill for big business.

Yes, i’d vote for him again over a republican, but we can do better.
Drill baby drill? It could happen again in California
After years of cracking down on California’s oil industry, Gavin Newsom is working on a deal with oil interests to avoid soaring gas prices.

This is insanity. Am I supposed to believe Daniel Craig eventually decides to stop working out 6 hrs/day, takes some courses on wit, and uses a time machine to go back to the 80s to become Roger Moore?

I like Anthony Horowitz - he adapted many Poirot episodes for television - but this is nuts.

“Abundance” is a set of tropes and bad faith arguments used to undermine regulations and increase corporate profits. It was cooked up in silicon valley and at the heritage foundation. In short, they want to build data centers and power plants but don’t want to worry about the environment or safety.
November 11, 2025 at 7:50 PM
You can almost see david sacks and peter thiel handling the puppet strings above this dude.

He talks a great talk, but when it comes down to it, ro khanna is a Sand Hill Road plant. He serves at the behest of vc firms like andreesen horowitz.

80s cinema, literature, and criticism knew what was coming. People just sort of ignored all the warnings and dove head first into “new” media.
November 11, 2025 at 7:15 PM
It just seems to “randomly” appear every time someone is taking about Gaza or Palestine.

Maybe I’ll start keeping track to put my own mind at ease.
November 11, 2025 at 7:13 PM
Is blue sky censoring the word “Palestinian?“ This keeps happening on my feed.

Let’s not forget they’ve also been making it easier the last 10 years.
