5. Monster Hunter Rise
Picked this up a while ago, finally got into the meat of it bc of upcoming Wilds. Turns out, MH is pretty good! Also, some of the stuff added in Rise makes for a loop that got kind of old by the time I was getting to the DLC. Glad I tried it, now about that Wilds benchmark…

Book about the machine gambling industry. Result of a decade plus of research, conferences & interviews. Fascinating, grim, gave me a lot to think about w/ regard to Capitalism™️, the beginnings of digital surveillance, & my distrust of live service games as a business model.

A mostly fun Link’s Awakening inspired game. Charming characters & writing, decent puzzles. Lots of postgame that I didn’t get into, as the game having no healing items & restarting you in the hub town instead of at the dungeon any time you died led to some tedious walking. Worth a look
