Why does a party with hundreds of thousands of member and a decent poll rating - already double that of the green party need to subvert itself to the green party. This proposal is a distraction designed to blunt the edge of a radical left movement in the process of formation.

Partially right. However, I do wonder why the position - don’t attack Farage because "he’s going to privatise the health service” does not have traction in the eyes of the grandees of the labour party … Are they hiding something ?

Starmer's failure to positively represent the benefits of immigration - which the racist Tories obviously failed to do - gives Farage’s platform legitimacy. The glue holding Reform together is anti trans and anti migrant racism. Until these are tackled head-on, they will continue to gain legitimacy
