Generally, you want to update the PATH and either prefix or suffix that .local/bin path to the old value. If this is something like a cron or something where you don't necessarily know how it's being run you can do this inside the script itself by just setting PATH at the start of the script.

Containers are such a game changer. Especially since there are so many pre-built images now and groups like linuxserver that build and distribute images in such a robust way. What a time to be.

Self hosting is the way. Especially in the times of platforms that you have no control over. Also a great way to learn. I've been doing this for 25 years and _still_ learning new things.

I'm in the inner sunset and this sucks. Just got a txt that they expect power restored by 7:30 but they already said 3pm and 5:30pm previously.

I wish more of my devices were charged. I'm running on fumes.

You were already twice as good as sonic. Now you're more than 4x better. Wtf.

My favorite part about that book is how straight forward and simple everything is. The book is so short, too.

And how to format a floppy.

I did all the exercises in the book in 3 weeks. We didn't even get 1/3 through the book by the end of the year.

All of the old computer classes were replaced by typing classes, which were pretty terrible. I could already type so it was especially pointless. My senior year, the offered an intro to c++ class, but we spent 1/4 of the year learning about the difference between input and output devices

When I got to hs, they were in the process of converting the vocational building into a "technology building". I was able to take a drafting class, but no metal shop, no car shop. By 10th grade they finished and I was able to take a video editing class, which was cool. But I really wanted to metal.

I feel like I was just the wrong age. As I grew up and went through school, those programs were slowly eliminated. In 6th grade I had wood shop and a programming class where we learned basic. 7th, an electronics class learning to solder. 8th, they zapped those classes and replaced with typing.

Im a big fan of drone-ci. Its what I run at home and have connected to a couple of forges. But I don't have k8s running. Just raw docker.

My dad used to overpay his phone bill by like 5¢ so they'd have to mail him a check refund and spend extra money because he hated the phone company.

It's a shame we can't do stuff like that anymore.

I'm pretty technical and I'm *struggling* to understand the nuance with these cables. I can't imagine how it is for less technical folks.

13. But I actually use like 7 of them. 😅

USB-c is one of the most confusing ports ever. Oh this cable can't do video. This other cable can't do thunderbolt. This other cable can't deal with higher power levels. And some of the cables just aren't labeled.

I remember when different cables had different shapes for different purposes.

They are on both sides. You can even connect the mouse to the left side of the keypad part.

I had this keyboard in high school and it was awesome. See attached.
