I would like to see a Spielberg movie about a famous scene from one of Plato's writings
I wish to see ancient greece alive in pools of natural light with a score that is by turns lilting, brooding and triumphant

i haven't seen a delay like this since Spielberg put off finishing Ready Player One to quickly make The Post, a quiet masterclass in cinematic nuance and textured political drama. #nfl #nflopeningnight #thursdaynightfootball

Just watch Schindler's List, and let me tell you, an armed force of hateful stupid brutes targeting specific communities based on ignorant prejudices sure doesn't end well for those targeted, nor for the brutes themselves. #abolishice

Despite a couple of hilarious performances by Dustin Hoffman and Bob Hoskins, the movie #Hook just doesn't work. It is a movie only small children like, but it feels like it's made for adults. The sets are huge and yet unimpressive. The aesthetic is drab. #notmyneverneverland

After releasing the #epsteinfiles I think the DOJ should THOROUGHLY investigate the actions of Ingen Corporation on several islands off of Costa Rica!

#stephencolbert deserves better! I haven't seen an average liberal persecuted for their beliefs this harshly since Dr. Ian Malcolm tried to tell the public about #JurassicPark as explained in it's sequel, #TheLostWorld

This John Hammond guy really doesn't get it, does he? #jurassicpark

you're telling me a few dozen working men still in uniform from a hard days work could all go wash their hands in the saloon bathroom in less than one chorus of "Smoke Gets in Your Eyes"? #always

#TheColorPurple has stunning cinematography, a great story, and some of the best acting of the 1980s. It is worthy to question, however, whether Spielberg was the best choice to tell this complicated story. We can admire his audacity while questioning the hubris at the same time, I suppose.

While the set pieces, location filming, directing, adventure and storytelling remain strong in #IndianaJonesandtheTempleofDoom, the unveiled racism and misogyny of the first film seem subtle in comparison.

Nobody eats like this, wtf. #IndianaJonesandtheTempleofDoom

While the set pieces, location filming, directing, adventure and storytelling remain strong in #IndianaJonesandtheTempleofDoom, Karen Black and her character are sorely missed. Kate Capshaw is not to blame, but the character of Willie is poorly written, imo. #IndianaJones #StevenSpielberg

It is pretty interesting that Spielberg explored themes like divorce and the breakdown of the family unit through the context of extra terrestrial life from outer space in classic films such as "Close Encounters of the Third Kind," and "E.T."
June 28, 2025 at 8:21 PM
#ET begins in stark contrast to Spielberg's former hits such as #jaws and #closeencountersofthethirdkind by introducing you to the titular concern on camera immediately. E.T. subverts those films by letting the audience in on the secret, and keeping it away from the outside world in the film.

#Raidersofthelostark is an impeccably crafted adventure film which nonetheless suffers from a lack of cultural awareness and sensitivity. Whether unwittingly or intentionally, Lucas and Spielberg promote misogynist, imperialist and orientalist viewpoints through Ford's western male gaze.

I take it back, 1941 has one joke that made me laugh, and it was about Dumbo. #dumbo #1941

Siri, recommend a film that is an action/adventure thrill ride for the whole family and features competitive drinking. #raidersofthelostark

I love the film 1941, it's like if Dr. Strangelove wasn't funny, or good. #1941 #spielberg

Sugarland Express is a great movie to show your kids when they are too young to see Bonnie and Clyde, but come home from school asking lots of questions about New Hollywood and American filmmaking aesthetics of the 1970s. #sugarlandexpress #goldiehawn

Even if Chief Brody catches this shark, good luck finding an impartial jury in Amity Island for the trial. #jaws
