my right to bodily, financial, and social autonomy shouldn't ever be endangered the way it is. being sick didn't do that to me and being crazy didn't do it either; they're neutral experiences, albeit tricky to navigate, and i don't resent them.

i do get frustrated a lot because i am too often prevented from doing the decreasing number of things my disability allows me to do by the social and economic consequences of being too ill. it's not the illness that has trapped me in abusive situations.

my self without illness doesn't exist and that's not defeatist nor is it upsetting to me, so a lot of attempts to sympathize with me fall flat.
