Ouch, that does look very painful.
I remember a few years ago i slipped on some rocks and bruised my, coccyke( not spelt right) took a cpl of years before i was 100% better. For such a small part of the anatomy it can cause great pain and discomfort

Neither my late parents or my siblings know we go nude,. Did drop a hint once but guess it fell on deaf ears. Like you say, their loss

Think most at that age prefer to be with others around their own age, they think too old for the younger ones, too young for the older generation.
