The question of preserving the human species is a problem that concerns only us.
Disappearances happen every moment, and from the ant to the dying star, what difference is there between these two bodies, really ? We are so insignificant on the scale of the universe that it becomes clear that extinction is just a phenomenon, which doesn't have to be judged as good or bad, desirable or acceptable, much like when we sacrifice forests and our biodiversity on the altar of neoliberalism. In that sense, anyone may not feel responsible, may not internalize a moral imperative to participate or contribute in any way to the daunting task of saving the world, from climate change or to the threat posed by AI to our existence. In the cosmic world, the universe is indifferent to our fate. The question of preserving the human species is a problem that concerns only us.
