As someone who held off until it was done, ANDOR fucking rules. Some of the best Star Wars to ever Star Wars.

Also curious: did you animate any of the other harem girls/belly dancers in the movie? The ones twirling scarves at the beginning of "Prince Ali" look like your work/have similar facial features to these ones.

Not so much that as weirdly bland.
January 16, 2026 at 4:36 PM
See I liked that, it gave the ending some teeth.

The first movie also has the distinction of Daniel Craig doing a Generic American Accent and totally blending into the scenery. One reason Cradle is better is because Gerard Butler gets to be his Gerard Butler-y self as the semi-antagonistic love interest.
January 16, 2026 at 4:24 PM
Correct! Honestly Cradle of Life is a LOT of fun. Better than the first one, which has a couple cool setpieces but is borderline incoherent story-wise (LOT of re-editing and rewriting problems).

Cool, thanks for answering! I just wondered if there were any specific inspirations give, as you say, they're very exaggerated in terms of their hips and such.
January 13, 2026 at 11:42 PM
As someone who watched it religiously for a few seasons, yeah, pretty much. My personal favorites were Neil Patrick Harris, natch, and Cobie Smulders, who's seemingly never going to get a good role where she can be funny again.
January 13, 2026 at 1:55 AM
Maybe we should also just move on from a look favored by a provable sex criminal.
January 7, 2026 at 1:52 AM
Lol pretty much
January 6, 2026 at 6:14 PM
Ah well. I did get a chuckle out of them showing a DuckTales episode on the background TV at one point, since that DID rerun like crazy for years into the 90s and 2000s.
January 6, 2026 at 4:47 PM
Esp. because they were still selling the old Pony dolls like crazy back then and could have easily had her with one of those lol.

And Bruce would be the first to tell you that! Always appreciated that he gave credit to his influences. (Though he hilariously noted that Toth didn't think much of BTAS and criticized it for having too many close-ups)
January 5, 2026 at 12:28 AM
Always loved these girls! Do you remember deciding how to approach their anatomy and expression work, or what kind of direction you got on that?
January 4, 2026 at 12:04 AM
Nah, I'm talking more as like a big climactic main-character thing. That's pretty bog-standard "killing off a redshirt"/subverting the idea that this guy IS going to be a main character.
January 2, 2026 at 2:03 AM
Admittedly I can respect when big franchises have the balls to do it. I would prefer a big swing that has the chance of pissing me off than "safe bland everybody lives endings until the end of time".
January 2, 2026 at 1:48 AM
Lol yeah. Like at least the Bushes fit the profile.
January 1, 2026 at 4:52 AM
Yeah, there we go. Which of course makes it all the more ironic when the GOP preaches about "family values". (whose values? whose families?)
January 1, 2026 at 4:16 AM
There's also, I think, a marked difference between a political opinion that's like "I think we should spend X amount of money on Y social program" and "I THINK IT'S GREAT TO TORTURE IMMIGRANTS". The former IS something you can debate while still being on the same "side". The latter is not.
December 31, 2025 at 9:21 PM
Ahhh lmao, fair enough! I think the second act DOES have some obvious highlights ("As Long As You're Mine", "No Good Deed", "For Good"), but it's definitely not the ruthlessly efficient and singable Act 1/Part 1.
December 31, 2025 at 9:01 PM
Not a Wicked fan are we, lmao. I liked both films for what they were, though it's never gonna be my FAVORITE musical ever. Agree that Grande, Erivo, and Chu's direction are the highlights. Glad to see Materialists here, people really misunderstood that one.
