I'll second that. Part of why I got as into Stormblood as I did was because of Lyse being so involved, since I'd started in Gridania, so she'd been my bestie from the start. ARR is my least favorite of the expansions, but I still wouldn't have skipped it

The gameplay changes also mean that new players like me had a much different experience than someone who played the earlier expansions when they were first released.

Same. Dawntrail has been pretty much what I wanted, a vacation from the nonstop, escalating tension & rising stakes. I'd love to know how popular Dawntrail is with newer players like me vs longtime players who got a cooldown period between the big chunks.

For some context, I joined in February 2024 when the game first came to Xbox, so my experience of the first few expansions, in particular, is rather different than that has by someone who's been playing all along.

Interesting.... I'd probably say Endwalker, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, Heavensward, Dawntrail, and A Realm Reborn.

The way the opioid epidemic played out made it clear that American doctors don't give a shit about what happens to their patients. They shoved all responsibility for a problem that THEY helped to create onto their victims.

Same! I started in Gridania as a Lancer, so she was my buddy from the get go. I really miss hanging around with her, Hien, Gosetsu, & Yugiri back in Doma. I recently did the Stormblood joint society quests, & spending time in Kugane with the tribal reps made me want to go back through the expansion.

NGL, I haven't felt like there were stakes in a fight since the Endsinger, in the sense that I'm absolutely confident that I'm about to whip the ass off whatever I face because nothing's scary after you start murdering gods

Tataru is the best of the Scions. Her attempt at being an Arcanist is one of my favorite missions, and I'd always run over and give her a /hug whenever I got back from a quest, before taking to any of the others.

I'm glad you're having fun! I've played MMOs before, but this is my first one with the traditional tank/healer/DPS role distribution. I was the same way, putting off tanking or healing until I had a good handle on the game, so that I could focus on what I was supposed to be doing.

I'm still trying to decide what I want from this group. I got the Gwiber of Light, and I'm looking at the Tinkerbell minion next, but after that it's a little fuzzy. I'm planning on grabbing all the mounts that I don't already have, but there isn't a must-have standout like the Alte Roite was.

That's the same way I've felt about playing a healer. I put off tanking at first, until I got used to the game, but that's a role I've played before in other games; healing was brand new to me and I've had a blast.

I went with the leonine tail, so no, but I've spent a good chunk of time wondering about what feline traits he would have. One that I've always been certain about is that, if you annoy him, he'll reach out and knock something off your desk while maintaining eye contact.

Don't know, but I've been dying to use that hat for my RDM, so it's just another reason to be excited for the Glam update.
