my dad is a big fan of zombie media and followed the franchise before the show was even announced and even he gave up on it

led to central characters being written out and left it without a clear direction for multiple seasons, switching from film to digital in the last two seasons made it seem like the show cheaped out and ending the series by teasing three whole spinoffs lessened its impact

walking dead was a huge deal when it started (largest non-broadcast debut of all time at the time i think,) but by the time it ended the entire tv landscape had completely changed to "almost every single good show is direct-to-streaming," so many behind the scenes creative team changes
