Community based charity working across the Greater Glasgow area, supporting people moving into new tenancies after homelessness.
So that was November... Our two vans have been out and about all over our city delivering 140 packs this past month. Supporting 228 people (164 adults and 64 children) in those 140 households across our communities.
We couldn't do what we do without your support, so once again, huge thank you's!

Massive thanks to @raybradshaw1.bsky.social, who has raised £1500 for us through his shows this month at the Edinburgh Fringe. This has allowed us to get £1600 of emergency work completed on our van which would otherwise have been off the road. A massive Thank You to Ray and his audiences!

We have received a lovely surprise this week via our MSP, Humza. We had a motion lodged in the Scottish Parliament celebrating 25 years of Starter Packs Glasgow as a charity. Its much appreciated to have what we do recognised, along with the support that we give across our city

For those of you not sure what items you can donate that we can put into our packs, here's a wee video that illustrates what we can add into every starter pack we deliver. Most items can be good used condition, the only items that we have to include new are duvets, pillows & pots

We've had a couple of folks asking about setting up a direct debit to make regular donations. This is a huge support if it is something that you are able to and want to do. If you DM us or email administrator@starterpacks.org.uk we'll get you the details for setting up a regular payment to our bank.

Demand just doesn't drop and we continue to go through hundreds and hundreds of pack items every single week, there is no let up as we help people settle into their new homes and move on from homelessness and other difficult situations that have been experienced. 2/2

We're running out of glasses currently. If you have spare in the house, we can put them to amazing re-use in ouir starter packs. They can be dropped at our @magpiesnestgovan.bsky.social shop in our donation sorting room. Friends in hospitality, we can collect your old/excess stock if you have any.

People often ask us if we are able to claim Gift Aid on financial donations. We absolutely can, if you get in touch we can send you the relevant Gift Aid form, which can be for one off donations, or multiple ongoing donations (no harm in being prepared in case you make more in the future).

Thanks to everyone for continuing to donate household items for us to use in our starter packs. It costs so much to run our service these days & the biggest way we can make savings is by re-using donated household items our starter packs, which totally ties in with our environmental aims of re-use!

Afternoon folks, we currently still have lots of duvet covers but we are totally out of sheets. If you happen to have spare sheets that you are looking to clear out, please bear us in mind as we can put them to wonderful re-use in our starter packs. Especially need double & king sizes. Thanks
