All we can do is whatever we can as individuals to help shape that new country into something that does live up to the ideology we accepted as reality in our youth.
It’s ok to be pessimistic. At least you live in reality. There aren’t that many who can make that statement. That means you’re good. ❤️

The problem isn’t pedophilia. The problem is that the wealthy perceive the poor as disposable goods.
If we want that world, we have to create a society where all people are actually equal under the law such that the law is applied uniformly to everyone. That’s not an easy problem to solve.

The world has been divided between rich and poor for a while. Upward mobility ended after the boomers. I’m sure you didn’t mean it, but your post implies dictators are strong. They’re not. They’re just cruel.

Depends on the station. MS Now pretty good except for the Brady Bunch.
We all re-elected Trump. The GOP drank the cool aid and Dems naively thought 2024 meant we could just forget about Trump as if it never happened. Dems need better speakers and better pr.
But the US needs better voters.

I don’t think it’s MAGA people doing this. They seem to want this too. We are more alike than you would think. The rot is at the top. The poison may have crept into the roots, but it didn’t start there.

I think we can trace the decline of Western Civilization from Somersby to Survivor. Great art has always been more prescriptive than descriptive. Reality TV is to great TV as photography is to painting: there are a few good things here and there, but mostly it sucks the people right out of life.
