The way to win at hide and seek with grubby is to become very still. Then you'll notice the leafs that are wiggling and twitching. The twitchy leafs almost always have grubby underneath them. They stir in a way that couldn't be the wind

I knew they were there. I saw them last night. They were clinging to a bare branch of the pumpkin tree. just an inconspicuous pickle amongst bright orange fruit. I told them I'd come back for them in the morning, hoping they wouldn't eat the remaining leaves of the tree over night. It was a gamble.
