I never understood his appointment. His record: budgetary austerity upon the EU/NATO, and consequently unilateral disarmament, decided that the NL didn`t need MBTs, shameful referendum on the Ukraine-EU Association Agreement, supported Nord Stream, despised openly his Mediterranean allies/partners..

In fact, 1. I guess this is what the Spanish Goverment thinks. 2. Spain is doing this already, there have been Spanish troops always in the Eastern front, even if there were no reciprocal support in the Maghreb-Sahel. Some of the frugal countries are not present there. www.nato.int/cps/en/natoh...

Mentioning NATO/EU solidarity to a Mediterranan NATO/EU Member State is very daring, in particular when the same people that shouted "No art. 222 TFUE", "No solidarity", are shouting now "Solidarity". Mediterraneans felt always alone, but they have always had troops on the field, contrary to others.

Mediterraneans felt always alone, but they have always had troops on the field, contrary to others.
It's astonishing that somebody with the access to information you have, or should have, takes such a narrow view of the situation. 1. Solidarity is not just money. 2. EU budgetary austerity is still into force, and Spain recovering from it. Facts: www.nato.int/cps/en/natoh...
