Inspired by the recent toy model kits, I’m getting back into building scale models, and the sad realization is that neither my paints nor my eyesight are in the same condition as they were during my last scale model hyperfixation 10 years ago.

Found these “wind-up 3D puzzles” I impulse bought ages ago for ~€2.50 each and decided to build them. They’re made of bendy plastic sheets that snap together. The truck was fun to build and looks good; the excavator is impressive, but I couldn’t tighten the arm’s bottom axle; the roller is terrible.

Has anyone turned “I thought using loops was cheating…” into a crafting game yet?

I just remembered this silly little #pico8 game I made a while ago inspired by the #cheese #pixel_dailies prompt. Honestly, the only good part of it is the cheese eating sound effect, but I still kind of enjoy it for some reason. Runs in the browser, playable on desktop and mobile.

I found this in the “modern shit is the work of the devil” section of a 1985 kids’ bible study book that we got from a distant relative ages ago

I made this in #picoCAD last year. Yes, I know the right arm is wonky.

The bags were especially impractical when one of them started leaking in the shop and every single bag was sticky with milk >_< ew

But other than that they were alright, we kept them in hard plastic bag holders when in use. The holders were asymmetrical so they could be used with 1 l and 0.5 l bags

Dug up my Intel Galileo, a terrible Arduino wannabe I bought a long time ago and never used, and while most of the related material is long gone from the web, the basics still seem to work. Now to find something fun to do with it, although I’ll have to relearn physics first so I don’t fuck it up

Largely unrelated fun fact: there's a classic Hungarian virtual pet site where you can teach your pet camel to build a nuclear missile

Another 1 kByte realtime animation of mine, this time with music! (It plays back the shader source code as MIDI.) Released at Function 2018. Download link in the description. #demoscene youtube.com/watch?v=FcPw...

Inspired by Pixel Joint's 2023 "ProWrestler Animal" challenge that I only learned about an hour before the deadline. I dropped the animal part but kept the 100x100 size and their 8 color palette. This proved to be too limiting as I couldn't get the obliques right, so I didn't bother to finish it.
