I don’t assume that you submit to anything. I’m just pointing out that the echoes and amplified liberal talking points lead me to believe that they’ve got you to the point where you don’t question the narrative. I was there too once. Maybe I’m just becoming more cynical.

That’s why I qualified it - of course that’s what they WOULD say… but the MP that gave it up went along with it at least. My recollection was that Arya had support in Nepean.

I say my piece and move on, and there hasn’t been a single interaction I’ve had on this platform that would lead me to shutout somebody’s voice. If we find disagreement fair enough. I’ll move on. I find it intellectually dishonest to block, and I will block zero accounts.

None of my self worth comes from Blue Sky or X, or anything anonymous strangers say or do online. I could care less if I’m blocked. The only thing that’s been consistently reinforced on BlueSky is that most people are too scared to examine their beliefs, and quick to shut out opposing views.

Also you’re just repeating Carney’s rhetoric. Our biggest trading partner has always been, and will always be the USA. Full stop. The only thing we manufacturer in significant exportable quantities is maple syrup and oil.
May 15, 2025 at 9:43 PM
Yah but those are fake constraints made by misguided people. A good example of authoritarianism is the restriction on buying gas powered cars starting in 2026. BEVs are not suitable for Canada and there’s been no investment in the infrastructure. Yet, the gov’t is
Imposing quotas on automakers.

If it was economical for us to trade with the EU we would have already been trading with the EU. They’re trying to force something that hasn’t naturally happened. We’re shifting toward regional economic hegemonies - far better for us to start negotiating for a NAU then pretend we’re European.
May 15, 2025 at 9:36 PM
Carney was consistently condescending and contemptuous towards the media. Not sure if
You care to provide examples of PP’s leadership that left you feeling negative. I thought he was articulate and that people just didn’t like the way he challenged a group of people that need to be challenged.
May 15, 2025 at 3:30 PM
What policies cause you to feel negativity? Most of the liberal platform was a riff on the conservatives. Which is why when people say the platform is the source I find it a dubious claim, and suspect the LPC manipulation has been effective in people making that claim.
May 15, 2025 at 3:28 PM
Agreed - I think it lends him some credibility. I think his climate agenda could be severely impactful to the Canadian economy, and we’re a testing ground for a more authoritarian approach to creating and imposing restrictions. In some ways he seems to be a centrist but harbours some radical ideas
May 15, 2025 at 3:23 PM
I think the Eurozone Trade opportunities are overblown. There’s simply no fast cheap way to ship goods. Everything is through shipping over ocean, and while that’s efficient, it’s going to become more expensive.
May 15, 2025 at 3:20 PM
Lesser of the two evils. Carney and the Liberal gov’t will enact their climate agenda which will squeeze the middle class even further out of existence. Individual choice will be constrained and the future will be about surviving in a declining economy.
May 15, 2025 at 2:36 PM
Left to right, we should be looking up and down. Carney by an estimate in Forbes in 2021 was worth 1.3B dollars. He hasn’t been transparent about his wealth or his assets and that should create concern in all Canadians. Sure PP is unlikeable and has a punchable face, but maybe in this case was the…
May 15, 2025 at 2:33 PM
Same could be said of Carney. I’m not supportive of any politicians. What I’m pointing out to you is that the vitriol you feel towards PP is manufactured by the LPC. Everybody gets on SM and spouts the same nonsense, tired old rhetoric to align themselves with a tribe but we shouldn’t be looking…
May 15, 2025 at 2:32 PM
By all accounts the seat was offered, which is of course what they’d say, but Carney ejected somebody that wanted to run & had already stated he was seeking re-election. You can’t be consumed by one version of the rhetoric. it creates confirmation bias and reduces your ability for critical thought
May 15, 2025 at 2:29 PM
Look you guys are entitled to your opinions. From my perspective a harm reduction strategy was a CPC vote. I don’t trust Carney, I don’t think his progressive climate policies are good or necessary for Canadians, and I expect that we’ll live a diminished existence when he enacts his policy ideas.
May 15, 2025 at 2:26 PM
This is the gerrymandering:
May 15, 2025 at 2:23 PM
How so? He got gerrymandered out of his seat. He’ll win in the by-election. He’s not going anywhere. He has the support of his caucus, what’s the problem?
May 15, 2025 at 11:43 AM
He’s not “my boy”. I don’t enjoy that truth but I accept it. The COC has a big likeability shortage I’ll give you that. Still, the LOC didn’t win in a Landslide - it was a very close election. What did the 8 million CPC voters see that maybe you missed?
May 15, 2025 at 11:40 AM
Are you guys becoming sore winners? Why the vitriol? 8 million Canadians voted for him - why don’t you think about why and confront that as a truth. You might learn something instead of just incessantly decrying the values he represented.
May 15, 2025 at 2:11 AM
You do realize that the Liberal party presided over this wealth transfer don’t you? You want people to be wealthier, give them more energy to consume. That’s not great for the climate though, so…. aristocratic authoritarianism? That’s what we voted for. The 1% will keep their privilege regardless.
May 15, 2025 at 2:09 AM
This is an illogical comparison, known as a false equivalency. It’s not a valid argument. The trans community couldn’t have done any of those things because they’re not as a community elected officials. Trans people deserve rights, but an elected trans official may do just as poorly or well as DJT.
May 12, 2025 at 9:53 AM
We are getting screwed over folks. Carney is just the salesman we’ve elected to come in and convince us that it’s ok because we can lord our climate progressivism over the rest of the world. We’ll be proud, green, and broke while our energy is stripped out from under our feet.
May 12, 2025 at 9:39 AM
Good point. Your ability to cut through the noise and articulate a rational well reasoned response has overwhelmed my ability to craft an adequate argument. I’ll never question the motives of our leaders again. Well done!
