Hard to read because it was moving, but I think it’s this: bikelanesweeper.com

I called assuming I would just move it myself and be credited that time, but the person on the phone didn’t ask me any questions or really want to talk to me at all so I didn’t get the chance to offer.

I generally take a photo of the license plate and leave a note on the windshield saying I’ll call 311 next time (it happens a lot more than I would have thought). The one time I called 311, the tow truck never showed up.

And now I'm worried all my posting on this site is going to become complaining about good things that aren't great.

Things like this combined with the weird timing of the Robie/Almon bike light is just a daily reminder that progress is not linear, nor is it quick. I think the Almon bike lane is good but I'm sad that it's not great when it could have been/can be.

And then people like Andy Fillmore use that narrative (while personally having all the money and support he'll ever need thanks to the tax-payer funding his salary and pensions) to make people think that spending less and failing is more important than spending more and thriving.

The Maritime WASP culture is frequently and proudly (sometimes with good reason!) demonstrated to be one of being successful while not having support. I think the wires get crossed at some point and people think being without support IS the success.

Poverty mindset? My father once told me (and I'm only loosely paraphrasing) that Ontarians can work with million dollar budgets but nothing smaller, and Maritimers can make it work with scraps they've got in the back of the shed but are stumped by money.

I'm pretty sure all three of those cities have a higher property tax rate than Halifax to begin with, which some politicians would label "cheating" and the rest of us would call "responsible forethought".
