The way we talk about the economy as positioned the losses of workers as male losses, wrong and threatening because of the way they endanger male status. But women are workers, too, and they deserve dignity and decent wages.

She’s been a tireless advocate, testifying in front of the House and Senate committees each time they produced these bills, and helping others testify as well. I am so grateful for her work.

I don’t know why they didn’t make it a more generalizable bill addressing different types of disasters, like the one from the regular session that passed the House.
