Working in Dr. Howie Bluestein’s lab was one of the greatest privileges of my life. I am humbled to be part of the elite club of his former grad students. We celebrated his career and retirement last night at the NWC.

That was quite a storm!
At 7:08 PM CDT, 3 NW Seymour [Baylor Co, TX] Mesonet reports Tstm Wnd Gst of M106 MPH. Winds gusted at to 58 mph or higher from 654 PM to 718 PM at West Texas Mesonet Station. There were frequent gusts over 90 mph between 700 and 709 PM.... #txwx Link

It has been a busy year for tornadoes in Oklahoma and north Texas. The area of responsibility of the NWS Norman office has had a record 104 tornadoes (previous record was 94 in 1999). There have been 145 tornadoes confirmed in Oklahoma (the record is 149 in 2019.)
