I feel obliged to point out at this stage that the horrifically accurate British nuclear drama series of the '80s, "Threads", starts with an American-backed coup in Iran which pulls in the U.S. and Russia into conflict, and makes the U.K. collateral damage. So.

I remember back when Michael Howard as then Home Secretary was announcing some new initiative to cut immigration, Scotland's then First Minister basically highlighted the fact that Scotland needs people. Our population is ageing, and we need new Scots to sustain the economy.
