I had a preview of the new Roman Museum in Leicester tonight, now displayed in a modern way, highly recommend it to all, great to see objects from some digs I've been involved in, including the huge Stibbe mosaic & Iron Age sword - opens 26 July AD2025!

This Anglo-Saxon 'small long' brooch (5th/6th century CE), was found on a dig in Leicester. Part of the growing evidence showing life continued in the ruinous Roman city, previously thought abandoned during the 'dark ages'. shorturl.at/hdxx6 #archaeology #leicester
