I am only aware of a couple of games which have UMD but UMD are 900MB per layer, up to 1800MB. So you may have downloaded some larger ISO but they're almost certainly two discs merged or with more content added

Ha, indeed. I was one of the ones lucky enough to have my GB X7 (from around 2018) that worked perfectly from day one with the Pocket. Nowadays I would just rely on the openFPGA core too though. I don't suppose a beefier PSU might work for the dongle? Maybe not

Krikzz was receptive to fw adjustments for EverDrives with previous Analogue products. I do find it weird that a dongle wouldn't work though. The SummerCart64 is a great solution but I don't think I'd get one just yet
