A lot of times I think about how we could be just farting around as Vonnegut said we were put on this Earth to do and instead we chose this.

We took the boys to a nearby trail in the marshes.

If you’ve only seen the invasive Japanese beetle, meet the native green June beetle. This beetle is integral to our native habitats. All it needs is longer grass to hide in from its bird predators. Not cutting your grass as often or as short can do wonders for #NativeBugs

#PollinatorReport #NativeGarden #NativeBees I’ve identified a bunch of new pollinator species that are new to my garden. I’m only three years into native chaos gardening! I can’t wait to see what else shows up!

Some of the bottles of rice and formula and flour Egyptians threw into the sea have actually made it to Gaza - now people in Cyprus and Lebanon are joining the effort, with scientists from all over the world virtually assisting them in figuring the time and location to do so based on the currents. 💚

#GardenReport I planted this obedient plant earlier this season. It’s already been colonized by native white-margined burrower bugs. Unusual for bugs, The female deposits 120-150 eggs in shallow burrows and watches over the eggs and even feeds the hatchlings for a few days. #NativeGarden

Get rid of your sterile grass lawn. Or at the very least use all native species in your landscaping. You can find native plants for your area with a Google search. Even if it’s only a few pots, those few pots of plants might be a lifesaver for a pollinator flying over all the sterile lawns.
