WSU accredited an anti-LGBTQ+ hate group know for pushing pseudoscience within their Continuing Medical Education Program. As of 11/4, WSU has suspended the SEGM course and removed it from their CME platform, but this isn't enough.

Despite their name, Society for Evidence-Based Gender Medicine has been publicly critiqued and disavowed by the “godfather” of evidence-based medicine, Gordon Guyatt. Why does it matter? If SEGM is accredited to provide CMEs, medical providers can consume anti-LGBTQ+ pseudoscience to maintain their licenses. SEGM are proponents of: - Conversion therapy (rebranded as “gender exploratory therapy”) - “Rapid-Onset Gender Dysphoria” - bunk science that treats transness like a social contagion - The widely disavowed Cass Review Text reads: We need medical providers that receive legitimate medical education. WSU has undermined their own credibility by accrediting an organization that wholly abuses “evidence-based medicine” to push anti-LGBTQ+ pseudoscience. Spectrum Center Spokane will be closed from July 28th-August 1st for our team Summer Hiatus.
During this break our pantry will be closed and our office will be closed.
Our youth support group will still be running Tuesday at 6pm.

🏳️‍⚧️ PASSPORT UPDATES 🏳️‍⚧️ We've been keeping an eye on how things play out following the recent development in Orr v. Trump... ACLU has recommended folks wait until at least 6/25 if possible before taking action re: passports, and check their FAQ (linked in our bio) for updates as they develop.
