And tweets like this prove my point. For those with privilege to treat this like a game, he might just be a friendly player, no "true believer" with malice. It's why so many tears were shed on FOX, he was just like many of them.

And that became evident on the albums because when those experimental influences fell out of his popular circle, the music just got emptier and more vacuous.
It always gave me the feel of someone who knew what to say rather than fully thinking through it.

I have a lot of thoughts around all of this, mostly because for my teenage years I spent my summers (14-18) working in a factory distribution center, unloading trailers and filling orders.
At 19 there was the slight upgrade: working at Costco.
Now I'm in one of those IT jobs, so I've seen both.
