Guess what
I've always been baffled by people preferring the Verbinski remake. Even seeing that version 1st, Nakata's take being more "plain" looking makes it feel more real, w/the iconic TV scene being more effective than the CGI heavy one. Also has the better score imo, lovely Carpenter-esque synth stuff

I think it's a mix of 2 things. Tariffs, yes, but also, Nintendo hiking up the prices during the Switch era for Online, controllers, ports, etc. Selling TotK for 70 made it clear they can sell at any price and people will pay it.

Was the only one in the theater to burst out laughing when Matt Damon gets blasted into space. Also ended up crying again by the end. Easily Nolan's most emotionally moving film & possibly his best ever. So many sequences were unreal in IMAX

Easily one of the best of the year, a surprisingly emotional, breathtaking adventure. Might be my pick for best animated film of 2024

Hell yeah, Matrix Resurrections is my pick of the series & genuinely moved me to tears by the end, Lana's love for Neo & Trinity's relationship is incredibly moving & it has my favorite themes & ideas of the 4. People claim it's cynical, but that's the first 3rd, that last act is beautiful stuff

Pretty solid! I think it could've gone a bit further w/some elements, but I really resonated w/this one!
