That being said, I DON'T think the sign is part of that subtext. I think you're right in that it's basically meant to be the equivalent of a "No Girls Allowed" sign - The point of it is that these two grown men are bickering like children (and their conflicts are therefore, sub-textually, play).

Or how sinners are "garbage" or "violent psychopaths out to spread violence and chaos". It's not a 1-1 on Earth racism, but it's definitely coming from a similar place of "this group of people is FUNDAMENTALLY bad and therefore beneath me".
December 26, 2025 at 6:55 AM
Eh, there's definitely some allegorical racist/classicist undertones to how they write Lucifer interacting w/ Sinners & Alastor specifically. The whole busboy/bellhop thing, for instance (kinda automatically talking down to Al by identifying him as "the help").-

If 📻 has ANY idea what he's feeling AT ALL - and that is a BIG if - He's gotta be going INSANE😸

It is very Teen Boy with a Crush, yeah. But - teenagers act Like That because, well, it's usually their first experience with serious romantic love.

Love can be overwhelming at the best of times! Having your first Crush at 100+ years into your life, to a seeming unattainable, very MARRIED man?

...Come to think of it, maybe the patterning IS the scar? Like how Lucifer's limbs are commonly interpreted as having been "blackened" by the Fall?
December 19, 2025 at 10:56 PM
But flashback Alastor IS! Given Al's touch sensitivity, that implies, to me, that *something* happened to Al in the interim that's caused him to mentally alienate himself from HIS OWN LIMBS.
December 19, 2025 at 10:32 PM
Ooh, and here's a thing that's been driving me nut. The stitches on Al's arm are positioned at the elbows, implying the injury might be juuust high enough to be covered by his shirt in the 2nd pic. The ombre patterning highlights something though: present Al doesn't seem to ever be wearing gloves-

...If Rosie had already told him to lie low, would she have noticed if he had genuinely *vanished* as long as he was still technically "alive" enough for their deal to stand?
December 19, 2025 at 9:19 PM
Personally, I've been contemplating those stitches in the context of Zestial's line about Al "falling to angelic arms". If the (STILL UNHEALED) chest wound is is angelically sourced, than implies the others are too. And we now know that the year Al disappeared was the VERY FIRST extermination.

A trade not disimialir to the one Husk would have to make if he wanted *his* soul back - Freedom, in exchange for the loss of the security that their status as Overlord/Celebrity, however fraught and diminished it is, still provides them.
December 16, 2025 at 6:45 PM
Vox did ask if Angel *quit* in season one, which implies that it's a thing he CAN do. I've seen some people theorize that Anthony *could* break the contract with Val...but it would require forefitting the Angel persona (and everything connected to it). B/c *Angel Dust* is what Val owns, not Anthony.
December 16, 2025 at 6:45 PM
In any case, it implies that the worship of the Root is an existing occult folk religious practice in the Helluverse's version of the Southern US. Which could mean nothing.
December 12, 2025 at 4:35 PM
Notably though, THEIR rituals don't actually seem to WORK and they seem to consider the Root and Satan one and the same. Maybe they're like, evil fluffybunnies?
December 12, 2025 at 4:23 PM
They're very similar to the ones that show up in S1E1 of Helluva... which features a family of seemingly wholesome Satanic CANNIBALS who directly name-drop "The Root of All Evil"
December 12, 2025 at 4:23 PM
He does PITCH color tv programming adoption to the tv exec he murders, which started in the early 50s, and TV sets have been commercially sold since the 1930s so, maybe a 20 year total span? Or 10ish years (40s-50s)? He switched from brown to black, so that implies ONE of those colors is a dye job.
December 11, 2025 at 3:42 AM
He said he's been waiting 70 years to get back at Al though. If we assume the current seasons set the year it came out (2025), then their confrontation'd be in 1955 & Vox said then that they'd known each other "for a few years now". So the absolute latest he could've died would be like, 1953ish?

In Pen's defense - those children LOVE guns! It's enrichment!

Not like Mr.
"Whoops! Did my shirt conveniently ripe open during our fight? Well, now that you've seen I'm injured - and therefore /totally/ harmless - can I be your prisoner? Don't think about why I want tha- And you're already shaking my hand!"
Is a stranger to turning a negative to a positive.
