And will that god save it—or consume it?

And we’ve seen the altars:
• Stock tickers before hospital beds
• Corporate profits during war
• Mass shootings answered with “thoughts & prayers”
• Billionaires debating the meaning of liberty while the planet burns

A sacred object reveals what a society fears losing most.

So what does America enshrine?
• Flags, but not community.
• Guns, but not safety.
• Markets, but not meaning.
• Freedom, but not responsibility.

If medieval empires worshiped God, and industrial empires worshiped growth, then what do post-industrial empires worship?

→ Security?
→ Data?
→ Self-image?

So maybe the better question is:

If we’re inside a self-terminating empire… would you notice?
Or would you call it “Liberation”?
