One of the best parts of living up in the hills on New Year's Eve/morning?
No fireworks.
(Maybe the occasional gunshot out in the distance, but at least nobody is actively trying to set the neighborhood on fire with their stockpiles of illegal fireworks left over from the 4th of July.)

1. Wear waterproof shoes or boots

Someone apparently tried to break into an old Twitter account I'd forgotten I had created at some point more than a decade ago (got a login confirmation code email), so I had to change the password...so that I could immediately deactivate the account myself.

Cranked out almost 38 miles this morning — legs definitely need to start getting used to longer rides again. (Also, the Folsom South Canal Trail definitely needs some attention — *so* many weeds on the trail.)
