This week I have had a red kite and a buzzard in the garden. Yesterday a magpie came into the house. Either something has died nearby or I'm getting a load of omens.

Had my first visitor to my birdbox this week. A beautiful little bluetit. They've visited a few times and I'm hoping they're checking it out as a potential nest site.

This New Year's Eve, I saw a Mari Lwyd in an old church and stopped my dog from ending a duck. Quite an adventure. Here's to tomorrow!

I love seeing a misprint in books. A little something that shows that humans are involved and mistakes happen. Today I found one of my favourites in a book about remedies from the Physicians of Myddfai.

Working in a museum is a joy. Apart from the exhibits, every corridor is crammed with artefacts and bookshelves. Every time I leave my office I'm distracted by something new.

The problem with modern editing is that it's too thorough. With old school editing, you got to publish errata when you made a mistake, such as Boblin instead of Goblin in this copy of Welsh Folklore by J Ceredig Davies.

A jay came into my garden. Beautiful birds. In Welsh they are called Sgrech y Coed- Scream of the Woods, because of their loud screeching call.
