To Be Taught If Fortunate by Becky Chambers (sci fi) was so good i cried about it, and if you can’t tell, i enjoy sci fi (lol) so I’ll also recommend Old Man’s War by John Scalzi. that one is across the board his best (imo) but Kaiju Preservation Society is solid if you liked the movie Pacific Rim!

my personal go-to for something i return to are When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill, and then for something shorter, This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar. I also legitimately liked Fahrenheit 451 and would reread (but that’s a 50/50 for most ppl as to if they’ll like it tbh)

for searching: The Ship Who Sang (Anne McCaffrey), Floating Hotel (Grace Curtis), The Eyre Affair (Jasper Fforde), and I’m Afraid You’ve Got Dragons (Peter S. Beagle). sci fi and fantasy, one mystery book

i actually recently read The Phoenix Keeper by SA Maclean, queer MC works at a magical zoo focusing on phoenix conservation and her rival from college is a griffin keeper. super cute, YA, very low stakes, good comfort read. Starter Villain by John Scalzi(sci-fi) is my current chokehold book tho 😂

i don’t get a lot of time to play games as much as i used to, but i’ve enjoyed all this in the past, except now i read way more sci fi than anything else 😂

i hope you’re having a day that gets better from here ✨

i’ve followed you on twt for ages so i was super excited to also see you here, and i totally agree. it feels so much easier to curate just the positivity and support i want right now, rather than try to fight through it on bird app lol

i’ve got a dog and i cosplay in my free time as part of the Rebel Legion (i’m a blue squadron pilot from rogue one, with my dad)

on that note, i’m mildly off my rocker about star wars, and fandoms in general. i’ve been reading fanfic for about 10 years at this point (oof. what a number-
