i’m not saying that the way wow does things is the way that destiny does things, but it just feels like right now i’m grinding to 350, 400, 450 power without any clear reason what that power does for me. i’d love that to be a long term issue destiny tries to tackle

in wow, the gear isn’t the goal (beyond transmog), its a way to help u achieve a goal

i don’t get that same feeling from the d2 loot chase; so many things are now power level locked and the hardest activity in the game (contest raiding) is heavily timegated and wholly detached from the power grind

for example, world of warcraft has extremely hard content that is made easier by better gear. the best players beat the hardest content on week 3 while others clear on week 18 with 20-30 more ilvl. there’s also *infinitely scaling* repeatable content with rewards that justify power grind

my biggest issue rn is that i don’t fully understand how the power grind fits into the destiny endgame, in that loot and item level in d2 feels like it exists for its own sake instead of being a means to an end

also let us know how your wow raiding adventures go if you decide to give it a shot! i remember your vow of the disciple teaching runs

as someone who found your work through destiny and has been playing a ton of wow the past year, this is incredible news

i think this mission doesn’t really change the core issue i have with this game, in that it feels like pretty much all activities reward loot simply for the sake of it

outside of contest mode content, i don’t feel like new loot makes me better equipped to solve an in-game problem

dunno how many times i need to hit “show less like this” on the discover page until i stop getting nsfw art, but at this rate im gonna need to put on a hazmat suit

agreed, dms and video are my two biggest asks for the platform, but the former seems like a relative no-brainer, really shocked it’s taken this long

the video thing sucks from a gaming community perspective bc of how much ppl like posting clips, but it’s def not as urgent as dms

started following u on the bird site bc ur commentary on destiny’s narrative was so incisive, was the only reason i ever ended up visiting fanbyte

would be a huge loss if that and other pieces like it all just end up getting deleted from the internet :/
