One request: Is it possible to get nice ken-burns-like animations and shuffling artist background images for the now playing screen? Asking for OLED friends + fam. ;)

Coming back to this to say that the library functionality in the Spotify desktop app does actually have most of the functionality I'm looking for, so thank you!

Lest we forgot the incompetent hotel employees!

You have my gun.
No.
Okay.

Anyway, Long Live Zune. Miss that animated now playing screen every damn day.

Which I can tooooootally go into if you have the time (I am not a UI designer, but I do find the that realm of design very interesting and considered making it a career at one point (and still am)).

If you've made it this far, thank you for listening to me. I'm not sure what I'm really asking for? Maybe I'm longing for the return of a traditional music library (which I guess is what Plex is for 😉). Maybe I'm asking for the UI controls to be a little more streamlined.

As far as Spotify's 'library' specifically (aside from some odd dynamic scaling choices/issues when adjusting column width), I dont think it does anything particularly different than Spotify (e.g., you can still sort by album, artist, playlist, curiously no genre though).

And sure, there are times when I don't know what to listen to, familiar or otherwise, so Spotify's "things I listen to a lot and recently and maybe only at specific times" at the top of the home screen is nice, but there might be a way to marry that with the traditional view of a library as well.

Firing up the Zune software (or player, which I still use!) there was an intention: do I want what I know, or do I want something new? (and you could set a default)

And there was also a mudding of the two (familiar and discovery) when you launched modals like MixView or started artist/song radio.

I imagine largely because there was still this legacy idea of owning music, so Zune needed to have a way of combining the two.

Hey Dan. Oof, did I say mess? Strong word. I think what I'm asking for might be a different product than what Spotify offers.

What I liked about Zune (🎶"you really know how to daaaance"🎶) is there was a clear delineation between your library and the marketplace (discovery).

Unf, that opening credits BOP. 🎶

Cereal is too damn expensive! A box of Frosted Flakes was like $8 at Jewel. Insanity.
